I do not own characters or settings

Hi. My name's Amelia. That's all you need to know for the time being. Anyway, I'm sure your all wonder whose side I belong to, the Assassin's or the Templars, this is after all 1192. Well, your answer is simple. I'm an assassin. My story starts a long time a go. Actually, 22 years, because I was 5 when the Templars took my mum away from me...

"Darling. Darling, wake up!" My mother's voice said, urgency ringing clear in her voice. I opened my brown eyes, and looked at her, groggy from deep sleep. She pulled me into a sitting position and looked at me, her icy blue eyes searching my face. "They've found us. You have to run as quick as you can."
There was a thud from below us and my eyes flew open. I may have been five, but I knew what was happening. "Mommy?" I said, quietly.
She hugged me for a second before standing to retrieve my small, white cloak. She came back over to me and pulled me out of bed, making sure I didn't make a sound to alert the Templars of where we were. She pulled the star charm necklace she always wore and placed it on me, then my cloak. She ushered me to the window of our small house and put me on the ladder leading down to the street.
"Go!" She said, and I rushed down the ladder. I was sure my mom would win, she always did when they found us. We would just move on to the next hideout, running away from something. I didn't realize it would be the last time I saw my mom.
I ran through the nearly empty city streets, going to the one place I knew I could trust to keep me safe. Worried mothers tried to grab me, tried to take me home, but I resisted and continued to run. My tangled blonde hair streamed behind me as I ran into one of the assassin's who guarded the usual place my mom and I went to, Masyaf. The assassin brought me to my feet, but looked around me.
"Where is your mother?" He asked, not unkindly.
"T-they have her!" I said, my voice quivering.
    "Who?"
    "T-templars!"
The assassin looked at his comrade. "Take her to the Master. I'll go check on these 'Templars.'"
That's the last thing I can remember. My life has been fine, though sometimes I wish that I could leave Masyaf to explore more. Such is the life of an assassin. I never know why I hear other girls complaining about their so-called 'terrible' life. At least they don't have to kill people. Anyway, today marks the second year of being an assassin-not a novice, mind-and I'm running away from the guards of the corrupt nobleman I just killed.

I laughed quietly as I run along the rooftops of the houses in Jerusalem. I hear the uneven clank of armor as guards tried to track me down. I smiled under my hood.  It had been a successful mission, and I knew I had a chance of escaping without killing a guard. I jumped from the roof rolling to break my fall and just walked with the crowd. I wanted to try something, just to see if the guards recognized me. I pulled out a wooden pipe and lit the grass in it. I sat on a bench and leaned forward, but not so much that I lost the grass in my pipe.
The guards stopped in front of me, and I felt my stomach clench slightly. There were innocents around and I didn't want to accidentally kill one. Ironic, isn't it?
They muttered something and ran in the direction they had come from. I stood and started walking to my destination. When I arrived there, the assassin in charge smiled at me and shook his head.
"You had to tell the whole city about the kill?" He asked, looking at my bloody knife that rested on my wrist. I smiled back.
"They wanted to know, and besides this gets me closer to finding my mother's killer." I replied, and shrugged.
He looked sad at my response. "Its going to kill you, looking for revenge like that." I glared at him. "Your mother won't want that."
I sighed, and nodded, as if seeing his point. "Yeah, but no one's doing anything. She was my mother, and I have to do this. She would still be alive today if they hadn't found us.." I shook my head. "I'm guessing the Master wants to see me now?" The other assassin smiled again and shrugged.
"You never know." We said our goodbyes, and I made my way back to Masyaf.

This is an interesting start to a story. Very well written too! :D I remember I played the first Assasin's Creed game and I wasn't very good at it - I couldn't get past the first stage as I couldn't climb up the building to reach the top :P
